Configure Yealink T26P for use with 3CX Cloud Server (direct registration)

The following guide will walk you through the process of registering a Yealink T26P with the 3CX Cloud Server. If you are using Session Border Controller please see my other post on registering with 3CX Cloud Server and SBC.

Please note, that at the time of writing this article the Yealink T26P has it’s own supported release of firmware for use with 3CX. Firmware version 6.71.0.224 (located here). To optimise your 3CX experience it would be best to ensure that the firmware is set to 6.71.0.224 before configuring the phone for use with 3CX.

Step 1: Connect Phone to Network and Log into the Phone

Connect the Yealink T26P to the network and navigate to the IP address of the phone in a web browser. If you do not know the IP address of the phone press the Menu button on the phone and then select Status.

Once you have navigated to the IP address of the phone you will be prompted to log into the phone. If this phone is straight out of the box it will have the default username and password set by Yealink.

Login: admin           Password: admin

Step 2: Configure the Account

In order the configure the account you will need information from the 3CX Cloud Server so it’s best to log into it and open the extension you wish to configure so all the details are ready at hand.

Then go to the Account tab in the Yealink web interface and enter the following settings:

  1. Line Active – Change to Enabled
  2. Label – You can enter whatever you like here but I tend to have a standard format. My format is [extension number] [space] [Extension Name]. Eg. ‘1111 Amanda Bartley’. I copy these details from the extension in the 3CX Management Console.
  3. Display Name – You can enter whatever you like here as well but I usually enter the Extension Name. Eg. ‘Amanda Bartley’
  4. Register Name – This needs to be the AuthID from the extension in the 3CX Management Console
  5. User Name – this needs to be the extension number
  6. Password – this needs to be the password on the extension in the 3CX Management Console
  7. Server Host – this needs to be the IP address of the 3CX Cloud Server
  8. Server Host Port – this needs to be set to the SIP port for the tenant that the extension belongs to. If you are unsure of ports per tenant please see my other post 3CX Cloud Server Port List.
  9. Click Confirm. You can view your registration status at the top of the page next to Register Status. Your phone should now be registered.

Step 3:  Setup the DSSKeys

Navigate to the DSSKey tab and then select Memory Key from the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Here you can configure speed dial keys or function keys for this handset.

For example, below I have configured a speed dial key for 000 emergency number. Obviously, you would only do this if necessary because you would not want the emergency number being called by mistake.

Then navigate to the Line Key option in the menu on the left hand side of the screen. Update the line settings so that all line keys are set to be used for the account you configured in the previous step (usually Line 1 if you only have one account configured on the phone) and confirm the changes.

DSSKey-1You can also program your soft keys by navigating to the Programmable Key option in the menu on the left hand side of the screen but I tend to leave these as factory default.
